From my experiences all of the gun departments in the big outdoor stores cabelas, dicks, bass pro, dunhams, gander mountain, etc... don't know crap about guns they just hire ordinary people in off the street and try to say they are gun specialist

I buy my boxing equipment from Dicks. They have to best stock around. Speed bags, swivels, heavy bags, gloves, etc. never bought a firearm though.

May be true about most of the employees but not all, I like Bass Pro because they have decent prices and a good selection in my opinion. Not too concerned about what they know, I do a ton of research before I buy a gun all I need them to do is ring me up

One thing about Dicks, when they have a sale, you can pick up some good stuff at good discounts. Also, keep and eye on their ammo sales at Dicks.

They had Remington 9mm LUGER 115 GR MC (L9MM3)on sale a while back at 10.99 a box. I went in and told the guy at the counter to give me 30 boxes. He had to go get permission, but I got it. I think they forgot to put a limit per customer on the sale.
