Moisture is the biggest problem here. That is how neighbor's bricks "exploded" when hit by lightning running along chain link fence. We were finding pieces up to 20 ft away from the house.
Have you had any storms lately?

What kind of critters eat bricks anyway? I'm not sure I'd want to mess with something that ate my driveway.
