Thats too bad... the stuff is just so darn tasty. I once got a mouthfull when removing a block drain plug. Sweet sweet anti-freeze.
On a side note my concern isn't so much with the coyotes (and I do appreciate all the handy tips) as it is with the guy shooting at them. JD is right, as usual, the exterminator is using traps as well.
My 80lbs of harrier just about took a chunk out of the south end of a north-bound 'yote when it got a little too close back in January. Other than that I haven't actually seen any of them. __________________ "When the pin is pulled, Mr. Grenade is not our friend."

If somebody was using a rifle to do some exterminating in my neighborhood, i'd want to chat with them politely & in a friendly manner to better know their abilities. I'd want to know he was using ammo that was hollowpoint or something that would be less likely to have an exit wound. Are those things to smart for 12 guage slug range?
I remember watching some show about a crew in New Orleans shooting nutria & other pests out of the canals from a flatbed truck, but those guys were cops, i bleve (presumably cops are well-trained shooters). |

he could be using them TAP rounds in .223, but yes no firearm in this scenario is a safe on. i would stay away from poisons as well. maybe some live traps would be the best option, or a high powered pellet gun __________________ Wars begin where u will

There are companies that hire only the best shots for this type of thing. They do deer kills and such, too. The companies are insured, well backed and work all over the country. The city of Solon, Oh had a company (I think from Indiana or Illinios) come in and kill deer. People had guys with climbing stands in their back yards. No one was hurt, and the guys were using rifles.
Still, not the safest imo. __________________ From C3Shooter:

JD's weakness.
As for the coyotes, I have no first hand experience with them. I would talk to the guy and ask him why hes scoping out a playground. Sounds like an accident waiting to happen. __________________ AMAT VICTORIA CURAM

In that area he should be using a shotgun with some #4 buck in it. That makes for a much safer firearm than a 22-250 or 243.
If you use the right bullet once it hits it says in the animal. I woud be using a 40 or 50gr V-max in a 22-250 moving at the highest velocity that provided 1/2" or less groups. |
