I thought I remembered reading about this a few years ago, so I Googled it. HK G11 rifle with caseless ammo. Seems like a good idea. I wonder why no one's issued it.

A few more modern movies (although I greatly prefer the oldies and westerns) are Ronin, Last Man Standing, Tears Of The Sun, Way Of The Gun, Heat, and Shooter. I'm not necessarily recommending all of those movies since tastes vary, but they do have a lot of gun usage.

Don't know if this is going to post,

Thompson .45 and 870 Rem in 12 gauge with collapsible shoulder stock...
Sounds like what they should be issuing to our troops in Baghdad that have to do entries!
-----------------

The H&K case-less never took off because the propellant was never quite moisture or UV proof and didn't store very well.

The first versions of the P-90 were supposed to be case-less also, but that didn't work out either.

Those are H&K's.

My vote for the best weapon are the pulse rifles from Aliens.

My votes go to John Waynes Ivory stocked and fully engraved great western colt clones from "The Shootist", (they're on display in Oklahoma City at the Cowboy Hall of Fame) The modified four barreled 357 C.O.P. from "Blade Runner". Sean Connery's cut down remington 1100 from "Outland", the reworked Desert Eagle Ah-nuld toted in "Red Heat", Harrison Fords Broomhandle Mauser laser blaster from "Star Wars", Steve McQueens "mares leg" 92 winchester from "Wanted Dead or Alive", the Walther P-38Ks (with their slick wire stocks and silencers) packed by Napoleon Solo and Ilya Kuryakin in "Man from U.N.C.L.E.", the Spencer rifle from "Unforgiven", Gus' Henry from "Lonesome Dove", Just about every gun in "The Wind and the Lion" (Maxims and webleys and Mauser broomhandles and '97 winchester trench guns, and so on)... but my best "cool factor" vote goes to the Christopher Lee cigarette case pistol from "Man With the Golden Gun".
