Most states do a FBI background check. A deeper check than instant check when you get a new firearm. It is more like a background check that federal employes might get when applying for a medium sensitive job involving carrying a gun.

Having the gov on lock down could well slow the CC permit process. I would be surprised if it did not.

If you think waiting for a CC permit is a long wait, jump through all the hoops to teach CC classes. That is a real long process.

The FBI is working. The only reason background checks would be delayed would be if someone with the power decided that they should be delayed. Now why would they do that????

I got mine from Wake Co., NC in about 60 days. Not too bad.

It was about a 45 minute process from start to finish in Mobile, AL. No class required. My wife got hers the same day. Gotta love the Heart of Dixie

Mine took about 15 minutes total time in Shelby County Alabama. I hear that Jefferson County which is my northern neighbor is a 2-2.5 week process.

Well Monday will be 3 weeks. Rrrrrr still haven't heard anything. Went to the same place my wife went and it only took 2 weeks for her to get hers.
