It's always a crime. Just like speeding is a crime but you and I still speed every once in awhile. I was just putting it out there that, that is a way. But, really if say 50,000 people steal Win 7 home That is $49 on the internet. That is what Just shy of $2.5 mill. Microsoft makes roughly $73billion a year PROFIT. That is .00003% they lost from those 50k people. When Uncle Bill takes a piss he makes more than that.
Interesting. If you have more guns than me, can I come to your house and liberate a few of them? Is only fair right?

I know I have more guns than you. You can try and take them if you make it past my three protection trained German shepards and my wife with her 1911 you still need to deal with me and then my security system and the vault. That is if you can find it. Which I highly doubt. Just saying.... Now stop being a whiny baby. Take the info and learn.

We get ripped off with gas cars taxes electricity toll roads water sewer and such. My little slice of the pie is nothing compared to what the IRS does to me each year.

I will say that overall Win 8 is a great OS. It is the most secure of the windows OS's It comes with build in Virus and malware in my eyes the best on the market. Now with that said they way Microsoft put the start menu was to say the least not smart. These companies Mac, Microsoft, Google(Android) are moving toward a 1 os work for them. This is to streamline and simplify the product lines and make development easier and faster. Mac's next OS will look just like their iOS does now. Just as Microsoft's computer OS looks like their mobile OS does.

Windows 8 works flawlessly on a mobile device better than iOS and Android (Huge Android guy here). It doesn't work so well on a device with a mouse. Logitech does make a touchpad that gives the feel and usefulness of a touch screen.

My recommendation is that if you want to move away from Windows 8 get Ubuntu Linux. It is stable as granite doesn't need virus or malware programs. Does everything windows or OSX can do and it is FREE.

Are you seriously advising someone to do something illegal in a public forum? Man if this was one of my forums you would be gone forever with your IP blocked.

Just wondering where some of you got your Computer technology degrees? Yes unix/Linux are great OP systems, but tell me the "Average user" can run it and troubleshoot it if it freaks out? No. Have any of you ever seen a KERNAL Panic? Mac OS is based on it also and it's free with every new machine, and we have had free upgrades for the last two years and it's STABLE...I'll stick to my Macs,..thanks...

I got mine at a local community college and the University of Eastern Ky. thanks for asking.

If you look last the newer distros of Linux you will see the new Ubuntu was made to aid the not so tech savvy. It has a great user interface and can use almost all hardware being used over the last 20 years. I know Linux used ot be more for the l33t but they have addressed issues the average user was asking for. It even comes with some laptops and desktops these days.
Ubuntu also have free upgrades and you can even download the full operating system or just a live CD if you want to check it out without installing anything. And updates are free as well being Linux is open source software.

I agree that Mac's are more stable. They should be. The operating system was made for the hardware (or is it the other way round?) Regardless, most everything works as it should. Most... I still cannot bluetooth a picture from my iPhone 4S to my Macbook Air I can however do that with my Galaxy S4 phone. This drives me batsh|t . Ubuntu (Canonical) does have a help forum but it's difficult sometimes to find the solution you might be looking for. Ubuntu was not made for any particular hardware but I believe it was made to work on most systems at a given time period. That's one of their problems due to the ever changing nature of computer hardware. How can they keep up? They don't sometimes. Mac, it's still my fav. edit: I are not formerly edjumacated in computers

You speak the truth brother. There has to be Some Bluetooth dongle somewhere that lets you move a pic from your phone to YOR Mac. Heck my wife did it all the time at her last job.

Another reason the Mac is so stable is the relative lack of customization the individual user can do with a Mac. This eliminates driver incompatibilities. With Mac you pretty much need to order what you want or live with what you have. It's a good model for stability, and a great model for sales. The only thing they are missing out on is the gaming segment, and if they tried for that the stability claim would vanish.

Stable
Inexpensive
Fast
------------

You can choose 2 of those 3 options.

If only it was that easy. True, I can build a very fast and very inexpensive computer, and in the beginning it is very stable. Once the new generation of (insert accessory card type here) comes out the stability suffers and the overall price goes up. It may also affect overall speed even though the card is faster. This is most common with the hard core gamers.

I run into a lot of builders, especially those using Intel processors, that never read the hardware compatibility lists. In those cases you usually get one of the desired traits. It's no longer stable, and buying compatible parts to fix it just jacked up the price. Speed is up in the air depending on the level of incompatibility. Those are the builders that I try to convince to buy mobo/cpu/RAM bundles.
