We got a keurig because I only drink 1 cup in the morning then 1 in the evening. I drink what ever my wife buys off the enternet. She usually gets something pretty stout like Jet Fuel, green mountain, black tiger ect.

If the dark roasted Coffee is tasting actually scorched or burned, then it isn't roasted right.

About 90% of the coffee I drink, I drink black. Probably why I am particular about the dark roasts that I do like. Easy to mask crappy coffee with enough creamer, syrup, sugar and other foo. Hard to mask crap coffee if you drink it straight.

if the spoon can't stand up on it's own in the cup, the coffee isn't strong enough!

with that said, i like darker roasts for my coffee and use different brands. CDM, Community Coffee, and Hills Brothers top my list of brands to buy.

i work, i buy the cheapest and largest container at the Dollar General. i need the effects of coffee, not necessarily the flavor!

I use a two cup Mr Coffee. The two cup machine doesn't save any coffee but seldom does coffee go to waste. Plus, I don't drink a large pot of coffee by myself.

Around here there are a bunch or people who roast their own beans. It is becoming like a homebrewing craze sort of thing. I know a guy who roasts his own and sells at the Farmer's Market. He gets the beans from his grandfather in Honduras. That is some of the best coffee I have had.

All that said I quit drinking it a few years ago and just recently have taken it up again. Back then it was black no sugar. I liked Peets more than anything else, hated Starbucks. These days i only have one cup a day and that has goat milk and a spoonful of sugar.

There are several home coffee roasters who talk about it on the local Ham radio repeater all the time. They get together and have these roasting parties. That is a little too far for me to go for a cup of coffee!

Hills Brothers, mmmmmmm!

Ex Navy, so yeah, expert on everything coffee

and beer. On the destroyer, the sonar gang used

to want me to make the

coffee, and most folks I've known and places I've

worked since have wanted me to make the coffee.

A bit of a hassle, but at least I get the coffee the

way I want it, too...

Jablum classic is the best coffee I've ever had. Pretty pricy at $45/lb. it's a coffee that everyone should try at least once. You must order online since its impossible to find unless you live in Jamaica. I highly recommend it.
