..That's because he stays true to his roots and gives tribute to where it's deserved. case in point...
I have very fond memeories of watching Hee Haw on a Saturday night after dinner w/ my family.. R.I.P. Buck Owens.

Default Another country memory...

Along w/ Hee Haw... We also got the Porter Wagner show. This was one of my Daddy's favorites by his favorite female singer/songwriter, Dolly Parton;

I'll be heading up to Maggie Valley for a week's vacation during the 4th... and I plan to take a day jaunt out to Pigeon Forge & Dollywood park. Looking forward to getting away!!

and how about George Strait! not quite as old as some of the others, but his music is deeply rooted in classic country and western genre. some of his earlier music was very much styled after Bob Wills and Texas Swing. and every year, he justs gets better at trying new material to play. but this one will always be one of my favorite George Strait songs, Amarillo By Morning. never was even a number one hit for him, but in many ways one of his signature songs.
