Sounds like some good stuff is going on.
We are not doing anything for Christmas day but recovering. No gifts between us this year because we just back from a trip and SHOT is just around the corner.
On Christmas Eve we are playing guest cooks at The Fisher House
. This is a place where families of wounded soldiers can come and stay for very little money ( cost of food while they are there ), but the "hotel" is free to all family members of one of the wounded, while they visit their kids or family members, the brave men and women who got injured looking out for all of us and our freedoms.
We have a nice 5 course meal planned. My girl's parents ( he is retired Navy and wife will chat ANYONE's ear off ) are going to be manning the front of the house, plus we have another couple who is a friend of my better half's family that is going to play wait staff and help clean up.
Really looking forward to this, almost with a kind of fear of "I hope we can do it right" and a sense of "this is going to be so cool".
The Mrs. picked up a 360 Kinetic sensor ( they have a 360 at Fisher House that was donated by MSFT ) so the kids can get some fun entertainment and wear themselves out while mom and dad can try to relax and let out some frustration and emotion between themselves over a nice meal.
I am taking the camera, so we will post some pictures if anyone is interested.
