Default Chicken Hatches Ducks!

My wife just came in from the Chicken yard.

The chicken yard has been crowded lately, because we have the geese and ducks penned up while guests have been in and out all summer.
(Those with birds know what they can do to the porch and sidewalk)

One of our hens went broody and had been sharing a nesting area with some of the ducks.

... So today, she said we have ducks hatching under the hen.

Poor confused birds!

When we had quail, one would sit in all the eggs, while the others just laid em around her. She was all puffed out, tryin to cover all the eggs.
Now we have a chicken doin the same.

That might explain where the phrase "Bird Brain" came from .

Just earlier today, the owner at the feed store told me the same thing.
I guess I'll wait for the excitement.
