OK, chicken quesiton i keep hearing about: some people reportedly feed their chickens those styrofoam packing peanuts. I know there are biodegradable packing peanuts made of starch or something that turn to a snot-like substance when water is applied; do you think they are using these biodegradable packing peanuts or what? I keep hearing this from different people who have seen people do this.

I don't know if I would try that. The plastic styrofoam (not the biodegradable stuff) could kill them. If there is a nutritional value to the bio stuff it might be OK, but if not all you are doing is feeding them something that consumes energy to get it through their system but doesn't do anything for them. Just my two cents worth.

If anything I might toss them in the compost pile.

We have a chicken site within the network now.

Default chicken feed.................

feed them every thing a buzzard will eat............. for really dark red orange colored yokes, throw in the left over crab and crawdad peelings, crushed. Not only adds color but makes the shells harder because of the calcium, replaces oyster shells......and the shickens are Happy, happy, happy......

Chickens also love Diazinon but its usually the last thing they ever eat , dad made that mistake and took out over 20 chickens
