Default CCW Badges

What is your opinion of a CCW Badge? I already know most police officers don't like them, but with that being said I saw one recently, a guy I know had a badge custom made with his name, state seal, and CCW permit number that looked real good .I myself have a few mixed feelings about it at first, just would love to hear others' opinions

Bad idea!!! Badges are associated with Law enforcement and CCW is not law enforcement period. Badges are for "want-a-be's."

Probably a bad idea. Sounds like a "wannabe" endeavor. I can just see some jacka$$ pulling his badge in true Farva style and declaring himself an official. I don't know what purpose it would serve, I know I don't want anyone knowing I carry legally. And it would be additional leverage for any of the anti-gun law enforcement ("well here we go, these gun crazy individuals now think they are police officers" etc etc).
Good topic Tony, I will be interested to see what everyone else has to say.

Not a good idea IMO. I prefer to remain quiet and concealed and not advertise. I agree it could turn into fodder for the anti's...

Since no officer would accept it as "official", and you'd have no reason to show your permit to anyone but an officer...... I can't see where it would have any value.

I had some crazy lady show me hers and said she got it so when she had to pull out her gun she could flash it to the cops so they knew she was had a CHL. Sounded pretty flaky to me.

Most of the badges are the proud property of Mall Ninjas!

Pretty dumb, IMHO. Why advertise with a badge when the whole idea is to carry concealed?

Default Don't Need No Stinking...

I have a friend, he has an EMT Badge (well, he's an EMT) he says he has no problems carrying openly in any store that has the "No Weapons" sign, as he just flashes the badge quickly and the employees always think he's a cop. I have received several badge catalogs, but I don't need it, I'd rather not shop anywhere I'm not welcome with my weapon!
