Campers
Perhaps you guys can help me.
I'll be moving off base soon maybe in the next month or so. Because I'm a Nuke I'll be getting BAH for the 6 months I'll be there.
I'm a simple man so I don't want to just get an apartment when there is a discount or free RV park for military right here. I'm more than likely just going to buy a semi upscale camper or a decent one.
Can anyone point me to a particular brand to stray from or go to?
Something not to expensive maybe at the most 5000 grand for a simple camper. I don't want fold out has to be metal with glass or whatever windows...sink stove, etc etc. I looked on craigs list and found some cheap 1980s ones but meh not sure.

I would not buy anything manufactured by Fleetwood. Look for a shell type camp trailer similar to the Scamp Scamp Travel Trailers: Small Lightweight Campers, Easily Towable. Light weight, towable with nearly anything and even the 13 ft can be had with a shower/bathroom, making it fully self contained.

Found some online for roughtly 2500-8000 bucks.
I'm probably going to spend maybe 4000-5000...hell my bonus I get part of is at least 7800 so I mean it's not that big of a deal....also BAH for me is like 800 or something bucks a month...the thing pays for itself practically so spending 5000 aint that big of a deal. Now 8000 maybe a bit to much but hey whatever.

That will work. You'll need a heavy half ton GMC, or 3/4 ton Ford, Chevy Dodge or GMC to tow it.

Heh I only have my 4 cyl Mazda/Ranger. But I planned on that. Was going to get a shipmate to help me tow it when the time comes...but you've got me interested in the Scamp though...that thing is small. Looks perfect for just me. Plenty of storage too for my stuff I'm sure.

They are in high demand, especially the 13 and 16 ft model with the shower option. Run anywhere from $3500 for the 13ft. to $12,000 for the 19ft. fifth wheel. Here is a link to a couple who tow their fifth wheel Scamp with a Toyota Tacoma 4 cyl. Razzle Dazzle — Scamp Page

I'm not going to buy anything yet. I'm not 100 percent sure I'm staying in SC yet. I could go to NY so I'm waiting til I get the official news.
