As an FFL, I get emails from people in NICS. I received an email yesterday apologizing to dealers for the excessive wait times on background checks. The email said NICS has received at least 155,000 transactions DAILY the last few days.

Yeah I need a restock myself. I'm down to two pistols and a couple boxes of ammo I don't carry much usually about 2-4 rifles and 10 pistols or so, but all the guns I have due in are sold and every time any pistol comes up that's not a .22 it's gone in 1.2 secs at the distributor.

That's amazing. I had heard Black Friday had set a new record with a little over 150k. It will be interesting to see December's numbers.

New FBI stats say that 2 million NICS checks completed in the month of November was the highest in history. This month is expected to beat last months record with an estimated 2.5 million checks.

All NICS employees were denied leave requests for the entire week of Christmas!

Yep and imagine the number of transfers that don't require a NICS check because they have a CCW or permit to purchase

Seen a used SKS at the gun shop today with a price tag of $499. I remember buying an SKS back in the early 90's for $70 new! (I have about 4 of them).

Del-Ton stripped lowers were priced at $249

They had a couple of RRA AR's with a $1700 price tag and one Smith & Wesson M&P15 for $1600.

Cabelas is nearly sold out of reloading components.

Only ten boxes of pistol bullets, and maybe 50 boxes of rifle bullets.

Out of control.

Sportsman's Warehouse where I live had at least 2 or 3 shopping cards full of 45 Auto ammo, mostly 230 gr.

I did take the Glock 19 to the range, shot only 40 rounds. The wind was blowing from the north and it was cold.

I pulled up gun wire site:

http://thegunwire.com/

Wow: ‘Biggest crowd ever for biggest gun show on East Coast’ in Chantilly, Va.

Need to read some of the comments and look at the pics. I have never seen crowds this big, even when Obama got elected his first term.

The one in Wichita had quite the crowds also. Enough that I didn't bother to go. Too many inflated prices.
