I must point out that you were discussing gas masks while smoking at a tobacco shop.

My father bought a case of canned beef stew to get him and his wife through the Y2K end of the world. It was a small expense for peace of mind and I suppose they eventually ate it all.

It's your money and you are not hurting anybody by stocking supplies. Can't hurt, might help.

Well, don't tell Joe's wife. She's still sorta pissed at him from when I told MY wife about the 1000 sandbags (empty, of course) he was hiding in the attic, and SHE brought it up during a conversation at the Friday night gatherings at the cigar shop, where they were both mocking our efforts to keep them safe during the ZA.

Sure. The worst that can happen is that in a couple of years I'm gonna have to start eating some of my SPAM.

You know, what should be worrying all of you is that I'm a Liberal. What does it say about the state of the world when we liberals start stockpiling food and ammunition?

Maybe at some point even liberals see the writing on the wall?
