So as the title says, i want to know what boots you all wear and for what occasions. My work boots are a pair of 6" side zip Danners. My new boots are a pair of brown leather 6" Red Wings. So what do you wear and whats the best way to break in a new pair?

6" timberland pro pit boss soft toe. As far as break in I just wear them on the job till they get comfy. They say you are supposed to rotate 2 pairs ..... I never have

I have about 10 pairs of western boots, mostly Tony Lama. My favorites are the ones in elephant hide -- I have two pairs of gray and one pair of brown elephant boots. I wore boots almost exclusively all year round in Texas, but the stuff they put on the roads and sidewalks to melt the ice and snow here in western pa also eats up the stitching and leather soles, so during the bad weather months I wear a pair of CAT ankle high boots.

Timberland pro for work, danners out at the cabin.

12 inch Redwing Engineer boots, w/ metatarsal guards (required for mining)

Otherwise I wear my issue jungle boots, or ballet slippers. :D

CAT pull-on steel toe. They are the only non western pull on boots that come close to fitting my feet. Even then I still have to use an insole.

I have a few different pair for different tasks.
Danner's for the real cold(wife still thinks i'm nutz for bringin them from NY)
Timberlands I have are from the 1980's when the imprint on the side was LARGE..
A Pr of Nike ACG's (6") for a swap out spare pair.
A Pr of Columbia's for trails.(took me a yr to find them in 13 wide!!)
a Nice Pr.of Propet's...
And 2 Pr. of Sketchers for knocking around
this is in addition to about 10 pr. of sneakers,..mostly New Balance...with a few Nike's mixed in...

Dan Post with cowboy heel and "j" toe.

I want to try a wider toe, I just can't find it in my preferred brand around these parts. The "j" toe is kinda like the next step up in toe width from the infinitely funny looking pointed toe. I would prefer a roper style round toe.

These are the only footwear I own that are even remotely comfortable. I wear them for any occasion that doesn't involve submerging them continuously. I have muck boots for working in standing water/mud, and I'm barefoot when participating in water sports.

I'd been wearing my old issued boots until I found a replacement pair of Dan Post's, as I wore my last pair out too many times for them to be repaired anymore. Found my replacement pair at goodwill, seemingly only barely worn, as the heel still had tread, and the sole still had its stain. They cost me $4. Tag sale.

Danner 400 gram pronghorn.

I avoid boots until the snow gets over 4", then it's a pair of mid-rise Keens.
