I've not experienced it first hand (NDE) but have seen what I believe was proof in other ways more than once in my life. There's no way to really describe it other than to say I was awestruck and my life changed on a dime after that first time.

+100 That Eli was an instrument. The man was blind for crying out loud! You don't break that Eli kind of bad without some help from something that is well beyond what mere humans always fall short trying to explain with words.

I agree, this movie is highly entertaining, if you like the post-acolyptical (end of the world) type movie, my guess is it was stolen from a book written by my fav author James Axler, he writes many of this-type book & I like them all!

Nope, it was a guy named Gary Whitta.

I thought the movie was good, I really enjoyed it. Denzel is the man for sure.....probably my favorite actor.

The fight scenes he does are great. Comparable to what he did in Man on Fire. that was another great Denzel movie.

I saw it Thursday.
My first impression was "why is everything still all so destroyed?" I had the same problem with The Book of Eli.
Both of these movies are based years after the bombs. Green should be coming back. The world will not stay so, so grey.

All and all, I did thoroughly enjoy The Book of Eli, and I enjoyed The Road to an extent.
I don't think it will be exactly like that, but I believe they did get some things right. Cannibalism I believe will happen if the world enters world war 3 (the push button war). There will be fallout throughout the planet and food will become scarce.

Personally, I believe there will be 3 types of people emerge from the ashes.
#1 The bad guys
AKA, the raiders, the cannibals and the gangs.

#2 The townships
AKA, the people who band together to create a village. There are safety in numbers

#3 The loner
The people who will attempt to fly under the radar. They will either be nomads or people who live off the land.

Thing is, eventually the bad people will get killed (see Wild West) and good will prevail. Government will come back and I bet in about 50 years the world will have rebounded. It still wont be where it was before, but it will probably be a world with Government again.

Hmmm, got carried away again, owell. lol
opinions?

It will take a long period of time for the green to come back thanks to the nuclear winter.
