After watchimg a censored version on Dish, I bought the DVD a few years ago because I was worried the libs would censor the script with bleeps or other words on all the new copies. Aw, Mongo straight!

Blu-Ray is the high definition standard for DVD.

I don't have one either, but I have found I stream everything anymore. I don't even have a DVD player hooked up to my TV anymore.

Blu-Ray isn't worth it unless you have the right cables and a 1080P HD flat screen, that's at least 50".

Regular DVDs work great on any HDTV. I play mine through my Xbox 360 with HDMI cables.

A few years ago I bought a very basic DVD player. It was around $30 bucks or so. It has served me well.

I just bought the Blazing Saddles DVD along with Driving Miss Daisy (my all time favorite movie) and Hachi (which was recommended to me by a co-worker). They should arrive at my house in a couple days.

I lent out my Blazing Saddles DVD to a friend and haven't gotten it back. I am still considering the Blu-Ray though.

Blu ray may have great visual, but it's the audio improvement that I enjoy

My hearing sucks so the only audio improvement that I would care about is if you can turn up the dialogue while turning down the freaking background noise! It annoys me to no end that I can't hear the lines because of all the audio clutter.
