Father thought it would be a good idea and fun to keep one live in a jar with very small holes in the top of the big glass jar. A few weeks went by of feeding it moths and small bugs and all. Next thing we noticed were like little beads, smaller than the tip of a pen, and there were lots and lots of them. Next thing that was realized was some of the "beads" were cracked or apart, some had fallen to the bottom of the jar and there were baby spiders. The baby spiders happened to be small enough to fit through the holes and definitely could not account for all the spiders counting the eggs. They lay tons and tons and tons of eggs. Baby black widows were in the house. Couldn't do much but it was just the thought of it that was scary. Feel something crawling on you at night and all of a sudden you thought it was a black widow. Wouldn't suggest keeping live spiders like this.

This one looks like it has a poodle haircut on it's legs.
What kind of spider is this?

I did get a few hours of sleep last night, but it was prolly because the couch isn't the comfiest. But **** it's 85 degrees in the rest of the house. There were a couple times where I felt an itch or something and I started to wonder.

And thanks shihan,I figured I'd be fine. My brother in law says he's got some spider medicine from his buddy who's a pest control guy. I may mix a batch up and spray the storage room since that's a likely place for them to be and that's where I most likely dragged that one in from

A bite from a black widow while likely not deadly to an adult will ruin more than your day. I knew a guy that got bit on his leg. He was in the hospital for a week. His leg blew up like a balloon and the entire experience was extremely painful. It causes severe pain and cramping/ muscle spasms and can make you extremely ill. They can be deadly to children. I would still prefer to be bitten by a widow rather than a recluse.

They said they could spray for them but that won't stop new ones from coming
