Cool video. Amazing how calm the hunter was, but why the H did he let that bear get so close to him!? I would've tried to scare it off much sooner.

He apparently wasn't afraid of the bear and maybe was trying to get a neat video. Black bear aren't the vicious killers all these guys who are afraid of bears make them out to be, you can see in the video the bear is simply checking things out, if he were being aggressive it would show, they will mock charge, woof, pop their teeth, etc if they are feeling aggressive and even then it is generally all for show. Anyone of these "tough guys" who would have shot this bear would have ended up in serious trouble if the law found out about it, this is not a bear attack and this video would work against the hunter who shot the bear. I am not against killing bear or anything else mind you, I just think it is ignorant to go around killing animals for fear of something that is not likely to ever happen.

Very good, common sense post, Blue. The hunter knew enough about wildlife to realize that he wasn't in any danger, and re reacted properly.
