Big Trouble for Big Company
Look up "Demoulas Market Basket" They're a pretty big regional grocery chain, that was sort of hostly taken over by the CEO's cousin. The courts backed the takeover. Well, the ousted CEO was beloved by ALL the employee's, and they so have his back. The new guard is just greedy, and are now threatening the employees with their jobs. Funny (and unusual) thing; the CUSTOMERS have the EMPLOYEES backs! I was there today after work when it's normally packed. There was almost no one there! The employees are out by the road with HONK! signs, and a lot of people are. The chain is bleeding about 10 million a day, and there are some stores that can't make payroll. So, the new guard is shooting themselves in the foot, to day the least. Interesting.
What's also interesting is that the shelves are pretty bare. No meat, bakery, dairy. The company's trucking branch is shut down. The only reason there is anything in the store is that no one is going there. I have no doubt that the place would be totally cleaned out if people were.
It's food for thought, and kind of disconcerting. This is the second time this year that has been show to us locally in 2 different grocery stores. (The other closed all their NH stores).
I don't see what the problem is. Everybody is being nice, and getting along, and I, for one, am learning stuff. So, if you don't like the discussion, don't look at the thread. Or, simply cut to the chase, and close it.
Is there an age limit for a thread, after which we kill it?
