Best Music You've Never Heard

This is an example of how my thought process works at times...

Today's music, for the most part, sucks.

That's disjointed thought one.

Shihan is great at finding the worst that the net has to offer.

Thought two.

The British are just too damn cool, with that accent and all.

Thought three.

So let's make a thread.

The spikedrivers. Rock, country, bluegrass, and jazz twisted into a rope that will pull you in. The first song on their first album is about john dillinger's story. How cool is that? No English accents.

So Shihan falls in love with Die Antwoord.

Essentially a rap duo from South Africa, and creators of "Zef" style music. They do alot of stuff that's a mixture of English and Afrikaans. And some of it deals with South African life and political issues.

I'd post a video, but I couldn't find one that doesn't prominently feature "F" bombs.

The point is, it's not Justin Bieber. And that's a good thing.

Paul Thorn from Tupelo MS. Bluesy rockabilly sound. Sings about a mood ring and for a 1.99 he can read her mood.

So in a casual conversation with Davyboy about clubbing back in the day, I discover something called "Northern Soul".

Tougher to describe, it was kinda like Motown without being Motown, and you had to be a Ninja to dance to it. High energy stuff, I'll be figuring out who the groups are, and adding them to the MP3 player.

You guys are on this quickly. Keep it coming.

Since Rockabilly is cool, I somehow stumbled onto "Psychobilly".

This guy has been around for years, and is an underrated genius, musically tough and funny as hell.

You may have heard of Brandi Carlile, if not you soon will.

More Psychobilly....
