DefaultBenning's Timewarp Movie Thread

OMG! Krull! Please start a movie timewarp thread!

How many of these would be as good today as when they were released? Do they stand the test of time?

So, Benning and I got to discussing the really cool, old, early 80's action movies, there is a small list below, and then it got carried away and needed it's own thread.

We are talking the stuff you loved as a kid, or a young adult, and was your first exposure to the Hero Syndrome, or wanting to be in Special Forces.

Discuss your early favorites! Do they still rank up there for you?

10 to Midnight
American Ninja
Enter the Ninja
Bloodsport
Cobra
Cyborg ( penned for Chuck Norris originally )
Death Wish Series
Exterminator 2
Missing in Action ( Chuck Norris )
Braddock: Missing in Action II( Chuck Norris )
Invasion USA ( Chuck Norris )
The Delta Force ( Chuck Norris AND Lee Marvin?!?! )
Operation: Thunderbolt
Revenge of the Ninja

Man! I bet I rented every one of those titles multiple times on VHS back in the day.....

Man, tons of movies come to mind. In HS, a group of us would go en horde to movies like those. I have many of them on VHS from HBO. I will watch them when they come on some of the satellite channels.

These come to mind.

First Blood series

The Hitcher

Cobra

Anything with Chuck Norris

The Delta Force was one of the best, I still watch it every time it comes on. When he finally beats the sh1t out of the lead terrorist - it's like seeing Justice incarnate.

Whoa, it's on tonight on AMC...

There are two kinds of people in the world. People who suck, and Chuck Norris.

How about Invasion USA?? I read that book, and then went to see the movie. God I loved that movie!

It came, if I recall, right about the time that idiot Khadafi was making all sorts of noise about sending his minions to "malls in America" and creating a great uprising, so there was already some fear.

You have to remember Delta Force didn't exist at this time, as far as the public was concerned, and we had NO INTELLIGENCE ASSESTS IN THE REGION according to news reports, so it was scary.

Then comes along Chuck Norris and Rostov the Terrorist gets his ass handed to him and all was right in my little world again....

God that was a great time for that movie...

I need to do a bulk order of some of these old movies for my DVD collection. Digitially remastered? How great would that be?!?

The Guns of Navarone?! Are you kidding me?

Bridge over the River Kwai?!?

Damn! Those two haven't been mentioned and both of those were great movies!

So many good movies came out in the 80's.... Believe it or not...
