I quit drinking in August but the last beer I had was an Eye Of The Hawk by Mendocino Brewing Company in CA. Very strong ale, not too hoppy and a smooth finish. I would submit that if you all can get it where you are.

To quote the old Orange Juice slogan: " Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore...you can drink it any time"

Seriously...I did buy some beer for Thanksgiving ...we are having family over for dinner. It's one I haven't tried. We can start with that if everyone is agreeable. It's Sierra Nevada 'Torpedo' it's an IPA...since 25-5 suggested Ale's.
There are only four of us now..so let us know if it's available to you. I hate drinking alone

I'm in. We used to do $hitty beer Fridays with my cousins. We would get the weirdest named beers we could find and usually they tasted like crap. Tasting good beer would be nice. Plus of Fathead is already going to buy it, I might as well have one.....

So this is tough to get outside Cali but worth it if you can find it. If you live in Cali check Whole Foods, usually in stock there.
The beer is Pliny the Elder by Russian River brewing co. Even if you don't like an IPA, if you can handle Sierra Nevada you will love this stuff!
