Scott

Are you refering to me?

I just don't understand the thinking behind lock them all up in a zoo. These are WILD animals for a dam reason.

For that matter. I think we should kill every single last worthless deer out there that means elk as well. phuck it kill them all let them only live in zoo's.

I can't stand deer. They cause more problems than any 500 bears. Car accidents are the biggest problem. Now you have every god dam idiot red neck in the effing country side feeding the dam things like there cattle. It is not hunting when your fat lazy ass sits 30' up in a dam tree WAITING for a deer to walk by to eat or drink from the 250gal feeder you have out 50 yards away. I can't find a decent place to ground hog hunt because all these stupid ass idiots pay people to hunt deer. Heaven forbit if I shoot a dam varmint you know. Deer hunters and all their stupid equipment, calls, tree stands, blinds, atv's what you can't walk your fat ass 800 yards to sit 30' up in a tree.

Really come on they should only live in a zoo?

How is that confusing you?

To have domain over animals doesn't to me at least kill them all when they run out oh phucking well. This means you take care of land the animals and the oceans and water ways and all the animals that live there as well. We need to manage our wildlife in a way that it is still around for our great great grand kids to enjoy. It is just ignorant to think that if bears go extinct in the wild it will not affect the entire ecosystem around them. If protecting the environment so that my children's children can see the beauty and know the peace of a high mt meadow in the spring then call me what you will. To think that we can just use and abuse nature and the planet and it will by magic fix its self is not only ignorant it is just out right stupid.

I will not stand by and listing to stupid drivel like "I think they should all live in a zoo". Zoo's do more harm for animals then they have ever done good. Why don't we lock you and your two buddies up in prison for the rest of your life to have people come by and gawak at you and do things to make you get angry. Lets see how you feel then. If we do not start caring about the world we live in then we will not have one after a while. But hey we got animals in zoo's so it's all good right.

Excuse me, Sierra Club and Greenpeace have two separate philosophies. SC uses peacefull and legal means to protect and promote National Parks and nature and along with it's founding President John Muir, who was also responsible for the initial legislation for the creation of our National Parks system, which we all enjoy today, including Yellowstone. In other words, SC protects nature for the enjoyment of man.

While Greenpeace is more along the lines of an Eco-Terrorist group, using in most cases, unlawful, questionable and sometimes harmful political stunts and outlandish tactics, to try to promote their often controversial agenda to protect nature. GP protects nature from man, by excluding man.

As far as the 70 year old Biologist goes, he should have used all that life training and education to pay attention to the obvious posted danger warnings, as advised.

So I guess it would be safe to say:

"Boo-Boo, he was not smarter than the average bear!"

You sound like a Jerk. I am no liberal or an environmental feak. You are probably one of the people who have less value than most wild animals.

Now to stick my appendages into the meat grinder....
I can't believe the way you guys descend into nastiness over somebodies poor judgement. The old dude exercised poor judgement in venturing out unarmed into the area where he'd been warned there was a POed grizzly. The F&G (or whoever) guys used poor judgement darting a bear near someones residence. I'd be damn unhappy if they did that near my house.
You guys that want all bears dead or confined-stay in town. You guys cheering because the old guy's dead, where's your head at? How would you like to hear people saying that crap about your old dad? I feel sorry for all of you.

My father would not have been out in the woods if a ranger came by the house and said hey so and so just darted a bear in the area over there please stay out. He is much smarter than that.

I am not cheering his death. I am just saying it is one less person that was really stupid not wasting o2 that someone else with more brains could be using.

I find myself agreeing mostly with Tango on this one.

The Darwin Theory was at work here if the old guy had been told to stay away and just chose to ignore that information.

People try to project human emotions onto wild animals but the simple truth is the the animal researchers should have monitored the bear while it was incapacitated and they did not. When it woke up the bear was probably disoriented and took the old guy as either a threat or the cause of his disorientation, and the old guy showed very bad judgment in approaching the bear.

Epic fail for all involved.

I've spent most of my life hunting, camping and backpacking in bear country (not Grizzly) and never had any issues. But I don't try to pet them, either.
