who here is a baseball fan?

if so, what are your favorite teams? favorite players? how do you think your favorite team will do this year?

I am a big Kansas City Royals fan. My favorite player right now is probably Alex Gordon. I am a university of nebraska alum and he led us to the CWS and was an amazing player and a home town guy.

I also follow the yankees a bit because Im a big Joba Chamberlain fan for the same reason I like Alex Gordon so much.

My favorite national league team is the dodgers. I grew up in the area so thats who i root for in the NL division series' and stuff.

I think the Royals will do pretty well (for the royals) this year. We added a few guys i think will help and we were right on the bubble last year, if we can build on the strides we made last year I think we have a shot at winning the division or at least finishing in 2nd or 3rd.

I like baseball. Growing up in Denver, at the time, there was only minor league stuff, so I never latched onto a team. Then I moved to Ohio, and the first game I ever went to was an Indians game. Then I moved to Cleveland. I am an Indians fan, but national league, I kinda follow the Rockies (that name was the name of the old NFL team in Denver).

You have a good handle on things, though. With free agency and all, I tend to follow players, too. Man Ram's a guy I watch, I've seen him since he was a rook.

That said, I played the game for years as a kid and adult. I can say this with direct first hand knowledge: BORING TO PLAY AND WATCH. GAME OF ANTICIPATION, MY ARSE!!

Going to a major league game is much more fun because of all of the people...and hotties.

i think its fun to watch and especially to play. I plan intermural and summer league slow pitch softball...super fun time

I hate to do it to you, but SLOW PITCH SOFTBALL IS NOT THE SAME AS BASEBALLI played softball as well for many years. One highly competitive league had the 'no steel spike' rule. I noticed a guy on the other team was wearing spikes in the playoffs, so I called him on it. While changing cleats, he said, "I thought this was a man's game!" I responded, "It's slow pitch, dude. Girls play this game, and they are good at it!" Dude's face turned crimson, like this

i agree with that...but its still fun.

dont worry, im not "softball guy" i play in running shoes and normal basketball shorts i dont take it too seriously.

Baseball is a fat man's sport.

That said, I enjoy the Mariners and Ichiro. I can see them cheaper in Arlington when they play the Rangers than I could in Seattle at Safeco field.
