Just bought the new movie Avatar on blue-ray disc to play in the new PS3. Should look great on the 46 inch Panasonic viera plasma. I shall keep you all informed on the movie, plan to watch it tomorrow evening with the wife and kids.

can't beat watching it on the big screen but on blue-ray it should be just as good if not better

My TVs are pretty much state-of-the-art, but how can you get the 3D effect without having a 3D TV?

looks good enough on plasma. Dont see a need for a 3d tv when all 400 of my movies are standard.

Yeah, I have hundreds of DVDs and slowly replacing the ones I really care about with Bluray. I think Bluray is good enough. If it gets any better, it's not gonna seem like a movie any more. I think there IS such a thing as TOO GOOD.

I was going to get it; however, I have a 29" and 27" CRT TV, 23" LCD on the computer. Yes, I am old school! Replacement happens when the TV no longer is functional!

True, the Bluray helps the old format DVDs look better.
