I don't use the maps so that doesn't bother me. The iOS 6 upgrade on my iPhone 4 killed SMS and MMS. It is a common problem on pre pay phones but not a contract phone. It took three hours at the AT&T store to get it reset and working.
I'm due to upgrade to an iPhone 5 soon.

The wife and I just quit smoking, going to downgrade cellphone service to the most basic I can. Should be a nice car payment!

I updated my iPhone 4 to the new version 6 iOS last week and have had no problems with anything. Apps, text messages, email, maps, all works fine.

And back to the iPhone today. Not a big fan of the android OS, it isn't bad I just have better things to do than turn on and off apps to make the battery last all day.

My only experience with the Android OS is the version used on the Kindle Fire tablet. IMO it's vastly inferior to Apple's iOS used on iPhones and iPads. Not sure if the OS used on Android phones is any different?

Kindle fire is not really a fair comparison because it's an intentionally crippled version of Android.

I have to agree. My brother has one and we don't understand why the removed so much from the Os. I kind of takes the fun out of the fire.

I've got no experience with other Android devices so I can't comment on that. I can say that most of my criticisms of the Kindle's OS have to do with poor performance rather than missing features or functions.
