My 82 year old Dad is here and I could never leave him. My kids and grandkids can travel to visit me, my Dad can't. He needs me now. He's more important than anything else right now. The time will come when I will be free to move.

Default Down south........

Theres 3 things we always look forward to in the winter months, turnips, mustard greens and any meat that you could get your hands on to smother down with turnips. How bout pork an turnip stew, pot fried swamp rabbit or squrriel with turnips, mustard greens with pot fried rabbit and oyster mushrooms served over rice or creamed taters........This is what my father brought to the table, he was the # one cook in the house.......

I like to peel and eat turnips raw. Delicious.

I've had them in mashed potatoes and vegetable soup and never noticed them. I still prefer them raw.
