yep, simple economy and the idiots that run the tracks dont get it.

People cannot afford the $160 a seat + $3.60+ a gal (especially if you are camping and towing a camper) + $500+ a night for cockroach infested dives otherwise known as motel rooms. At least the camp sites are still somewhat reasonable...if you can call $200+ a week reasonable.

This is why i havent been to a race since 2010 Daytona. Simply cannot justify the cost when i have eldora and winchester so close...

That said...i couldnt even justify the cost to take the boys and go to the Indy Supercross event this weekend.

Speaking of Eldora, July 24 they are having a Camping World Truck event. That should be really cool...My brother and i always go to Kings Royal, gotta add the truck race to my bucket list. Never been to Winchester.

Thats crazy... been to all 3 at least twice, Charlotte is close, but KMS is no where near as cool as Bristol.

One of the great perks to Charlotte, is getting to visit all the race shops in the area. The locals probably dont think is a big deal, but to a girl from Ohio its really cool. the last time we were there we went to the Hendrick shop on Papa Joe Blvd. Its only a few miles from the track, watched the pit crew practice for a while, and met Steve Letarte. The place is massive, they have their own museum. They will let you in certain parts of the shop (no cameras allowed)

Winchester is FAST! A lot of history there..pics of Kasey and Gordo and many other big NASCAR names when they were but kids coming up thru the ranks. Close and affordable.
