Default American Soldiers and Christmas

I've been thinking lately allot about our Troops and what they do for our nation. What they give up at times that we may take for granted. Many of you that read this remember spending holidays away from family, friends and the comfort of home. If all goes well most of us will wake up Christmas morning in a warm cozy house and eat all we can stand and have a great day. Not so for so many that we send to far off places in the name of Liberty and Freedom.

Take some time to dwell on those brave souls that would dearly love to be home but can't because of Duty. If you're so inclined to pray then pray for them, they will appreciate it. And for those of you here on the forum that have been away and gave up time that can never be replaced you have the utmost in gratitude from me. God bless you and Merry Christmas to all of our military.

Have to agree with you. Our armed forces don't get near the respect they deserve. Being away from the comforts of home, missing your loved ones on any holiday must be very tough. Not being there when your child(ren) come in and see the presents under the tree would be heartbreaking. At least there are finally groups and agencies that agree and help the families of our soldiers cope with their absence.

The Second Amendment makes all the others possible.

My niece's husband just deployed to Assghanistan. They have a newborn only a couple months old. He made it through a deployment in Iraq, we just hope he does all right this time around. We put together a goodie box to send him for Christmas. Hopefully there is enough in it to share with his buddies. They all are owed our gratitude and respect.
