Default American Rifleman

Just got my Aug. issue. There is a great article in there about Dirty Harry's Model 29. For those who are not members, maybe you can find it online. The magazine subscription is worth the price of the NRA membership by itself......

I've been reading the American Rifleman since 1955. It's been a great magazine.

The Mdl. 29 S&W is a legendary American Handgun. The "Big" 29 was a legend before the movies. After the movie it became a must have for hand gunners of the day. The early Pre-29 and 29-1 & 29-2 revolvers are a work of art. They were the last of the "Shop" produced firearms. Most handguns today are mass produced from castings.

This is a Pre-29 3rd Mdl. H.E. .44 Mag. 5 screw, first year of production.
