Default Amazing Grace

I know it ain't Sunday, nor are we at Jacob's well quenching our thirst.
But it is indeed, at least for me in these hectic days, a stress-reliever , just for a minute or more.
(Sometimes it goes down well with a bit of Jack Daniels)
Enjoy!

I spent some time this year in a convalescent home,we had a little black lady in a wheelchair, she was in her late 80s,every Sunday in the dinning room, she would sing Amazing Grace perfectly,I actually looked forward on Sunday to hear her sing that Song/Prayer,she boosted my moral when I felt so low and helpless,GOD Bless Her!

"Oh, Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling". And then he tears, tears I cannot keep inside as I listen to the warpipes drones crack loose their reeds and the chanter screaming its sweet melody.

My Father is a descendent of William Wallace, his nickname was Wild Bill. He was a Piper and a warrior, I was 6 when he died, 45 years later, I can never forget the lone piper that played Amazing Grace at his grave after the 21 gun salute. The notes echo through my head even today. I cannot hear that tune without a flood of tears and emotion the size of Everest. Taps is another tune that rips m heart right out of my chest.

I do listen to amazing Grace every once in awhile; my wife always asks me why. She sees my tears as sadness but to me they represent so much more. The hopes and dreams of a hundred million and more ready and willing to give everything for something they cannot grasp or hold without bloodshed and last breaths of our fallen.

The pipes do call me but they will forever haunt the souls of those who stand against them!

RIP Warriors, your job is done...

John Newton a sailor from London England wrote "Amazing Grace". Newton served on slave transport ships. In later life troubled by the practice of human servitude he became a British minster and avid abolitionist. Amazing Grace dating from 1797 was popular in the cause of the Union and the anti slavery movement of the 1860s. The "Pipes" were imported from India by returning British troops.

Guess anything sounds great with Jack Daniels on your Wheaties (we won't buy Cheerios anymore). I found that to be one of the most unmoving renditions of the melody and song itself I've ever heard to be honest. They may be good singers, and then they do "that" to it. I found it a little disresepctful, dis-grace-ful, truth be told.

Is there a 70's disco version we can listen to instead!?
