I think I'm getting sick just reading this thread. I'm deathly allergic to onions and even a little of raw onion puts me in anaphylactic shock.

(((( and yes I have to be very careful not to piss Glass off too much))))

Onions =

Hate 'em. I'm right there with ya' ccdbrowns. My wife loves them and so does everyone in her family. Although her mom usually makes me my own little helping of onion free stuffing at Thanksgiving, so I know I'm loved. lol

I absolutely love them.

I was reading a post about someone just eating one like an apple. I don't like them enough to do that, however.

I think you can eat the sweet onions, like Vadaia and Walla Walla onions, like an apple. I never tried it but I just might next time I buy sweet onions.

There a small chain of restaurants here in Las Vegas called Blueberry Hill and they have liver and onions on their menu. One of the very few I've seen over the many years I've been on this planet.

And every few weeks, the menu in the chow hall uprange cycles around and they also serve liver and onions.

Onions? Whoa, I love 'em!
Onions on a hamburger, sauteed onions on a frank,
onions in a western omelette ... whoa!

I love raw onions especially the red ones they are kinda sweet. I do however avoid dishes with lots of cooked onions. Worst thing for me is a sreak served covered in stewed onions and mushrooms. Grilled onions on a burger makes me want to gag. Mushrooms to me taste like your eating the dirt floor of a musty old celler.

Ah, good point. I only ever get your standard white onions, not sweet in any way. I might have to try that sometime as well just to see.

That was me and I was little when I did it. I don't eat them like that anymore.
Course at the same time I'd eat raw okra out of the garden. I don't do that anymore either.
