Alabama Fishing Trip

I'm frankly a bit bored sitting on my arse at home and while working out is also good fun....I'd really like to go fishing again.

Is anyone around the Birmingham Area slinging a worm about?

I'll buy the bait, the hooks, and the line if you'll give me the time.

I don't have any relatives I'm on good terms with who go fishing anymore.

This soon to be sailor is sad. Fishing used to be what I always did when I was a kid...or tried to...I didn't fish that often but I loved it. Caught me 2 big guns I think were some kind of easy to catch fish in a stream...and gobbled them up.

Delicious.

You know speeking of sailor and fishing.

My dad while in the navy was friends with the guys in the machine shop. The make a big hook out of a brass rod. They then stole a big roast from the gally and tied the hook up and put the roast on it and went fishing for whales. Dad said they were luck they didn't catch a shark but, it would have made for some good eats.

I just got back from fishin'. We know a lady who owns a 20 acre private lake. It's secluded back in the woods, difficult to see from the road and you can count the people who fish it on one hand. She doesn't let many people fish it, just me and my father-in-law and a friend of hers that is one of her neighbors. Last year, when we fished it for the 1st time we caught 54 fish between the two of us. It was a mixture of bass, bluegill, redear, and crappie. Most of them were bluegill and small mouth bass. We caught all the fish on good ol' red worms that we found under rocks and around a junk pile in my FIL's yard. Most times we fish from a boat as most of the lake is difficult to reach from the shore, thick woods and brush make it hard to get to the water's edge. Fishing is a great way to relaxe, let the pressures of the week melt off.

Also, at the lake cell phone reception is none existent so nobody call me and bother me with anything.

Aye that's want I'm looking to do.

Looking for something besides getting headshots on Halo 3 to wind down time.

If you get stationed in the Norfolk area, I can put you on some of these: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y69...s/DSC00448.jpg

Took the wifey out for her first saltwater trip in Fla a couple weeks ago, and amongst the Blue Runners and King Mackerels, we were got into stupidly large sharks which provided us nothing more than sore shoulders. Think "Captain Quint and Chief Brody".
