It's actually the truth, guy.

Don't ever call a Drill Sergeant "sir" or "ma'am".

You're in here talking about stuff you don't know about again, hmm marlinman?

Run with a weighted backpack. Run in boots. Run rain or shine. Conditioning your body will be your best physical gain. Mentally, grow some tough skin. Don't get caught up with the wrong crowd. Remember they will boot you for any reason now, plenty in line.
Thank you in advance for your service and commitment.

Just get used to running, get your body ready for it. Find a good running program and build up to a good 10k. That should get you through most of the ability group runs pretty easy. Do push ups and sit ups, of course.

Just try hard, and keep an open mind. Sometimes the fact that Joe is deathly afraid of getting yelled at or smoked keeps them from asking questions and learning. Try to learn as much as you can. It's BCT ... You're there to get something out of it, not to just check the block. Getting yelled at and smoked is inevitable. It's only 9 weeks and they can't kill you. Lol.

hoovco is correct, do not call an enlisted man/woman , sir/mam, call them by their title or rank.

"Don't call me sir, I work for a living!" It's not just a movie quote.

I guess things have changed a lot since I went through.

In boot, we always said "Sir, yes sir" or sir, no sir," to the DI.

After boot, we never said sir to anyone enlisted.
