I have some questions since I first heard of the 6.8 SPC and since I've just joined this forum, I thought I'd finally ask them aloud and maybe get some feedback.
What kind of trials did the military do? What is the purpose of the 6.8 SPC? I have read that it was meant to deliver more terminal energy at closer range than the 5.56. In that case, was a .30 caliber version considered? Given the case dimensions, would a rechambering of a 6.8 SPC AR-15/Ruger Mini-14 into .30 or .357 Herrett (rimless of course) be a feasible project?
