With all due respect the situations couldn't be more different. The one in Modesto involved an obviously insane man (I believe the guy was on meth and cutting his kids head off if it is the same story as the one I recall in the same area) and a police officer. If any of the witnesses had had a gun I have no doubt they would have been cleared of any wrongdoing had they shot the man. The child died and was probably already dead when the officer fired on him.
The pressure washer incident did not involve any witnesses (other than the mother's companion) and wasn't discovered until the security footage was viewed later. The child's live was not in immediate danger from the pressure washer, so lethal force was definitely not warranted. However, if I came across the situation and had called 911, started to intervene to stop the abuse and some dude stepped in and started putting the beat-down on the broad I would have a hard time recalling having seen that happen when the cops got there. On the other hand my memory of the child abuse would be crystal clear.

Yes officer she was yelling and cussing at her child while she was blasting him in the face with the pressure washer..whats that? What happened to her? I believe that she was born that way officer. I think that her dad is also her uncle. Oh you mean the cuts and scratches? I think that they are self inflicted officer,that meth is a terrible thing. :-)

Maybe thats why she is spraying him down, he was putting groceries in the trunk,accidentally knocked over the improvised glassware with the milk and got 2 stage liquid all over him. :-)

Well actually...there is no pressure. Upon leaving the hose, the water no longer has pressure, rather velocity. The pressure is equal to the atmosphere.
