i agree. in my area, we are many, many miles from anything that resembles a desert.

i too think that many do perceive it as an off-road truck, but they are incorrect. what they see is a Ford F150 with raised stance, over-sized tires, a huge honking engine, and lots of ground clearance. it looks like an F150 on steroids!

don't get me wrong, i think they are cool looking trucks. i'd test drive it like a rented mule if i had the chance! but i have no desire to own one. way too expensive for my pocketbook.

they are LT315/70-R17 tires. IIRC, that is pretty close to a 35" tall tire.

Those tires will be real cheap to replace after being continuously driven on asphalt.

My best friend does a lot of classic car restorations for one of the biggest Ford dealer owner in the nation. Greg pretty much has to drive a Ford vehicle, and has had several Raptor's for shop trucks. He's waiting on his new one to be delivered.
His last one was over the top with a Roush stage 3 kit installed-Supercharger,Cam,Headers,Exhaust system,4.10 gears, etc. That truck cost over $100K.
Even with all that horsepower,it still couldn't out pull my stock powered Power Wagon.
The Raptor will out run,out brake, and ride smoother than my Power Wagon, but it's not what I call a working truck. It is an expensive rich boy's toy to run around town in,and go fast over dirt trails. It doesn't do the tough off road stuff very well.

I think Ford is making a big mistake putting the Ecoboost motor in the Raptor, there's no making up for displacement under the hood.

I wish Dodge would option the Hellcat motor in the Power Wagon, that would be an off road beast!

I hate metric tires, should take the time to learn it. I like simple, 33x12.50xr15 sounds better than a bunch of gibberish
