The states with the largest petitions receive the most Federal aid. I think it's an outstanding way to balance the budget.

I hope these are very embarrassing to the current administration, and may also push some states to consider secession.

personally i don't see secession happening. there is just a huge number of people fed up with the current administrations policies and how they are dealing with everything in general. people are simply fed up and want positive change. the economy sucks, large numbers of people are still unemployed or under-employed, huge numbers on welfare and social programs, and many, many more problems that are continually plagueing our country. people are just plain fed up and tired of it and want to show it and by signing these petitions to secede, is their way of doing so.

i signed one myself. do i want Texas to secede? well if it were to improve my earning income, lower my taxes, grant me my unconditional Constitutional rights and freedoms, and generally better my current living conditions, yes! do i realistically believe that secession or that will happen? no, i don't. but i still want to be part of the message sent to the current administration that i too am fed up and tired of the current state of affairs and the poor handling of our country and the piss poor performance of our currently elected leader. i see signing these petitions as excecising my 1st admendment right, my freedom of speech. i am simply another voice among many.

Looks like there are petitions from all 50 states now, with at least 7
past the 25,000 minimum required for a response.

The response? I'm guessing a long winded sugar coated "tough $h!t"

maybe so. but there is an overwhelming populace that is truly fed up with the way things are, and with the required number of signatures, he will have to at least acknowledge it. i seriously doubt it will change his direction in any policy making or any of his decisions. but we the people will have spoken out and voiced our opinion of his leadership and our disappointment.

Secede... Succeed....

Neither one is going to happen in the next 4 years.
