1911 Bashing
The fine old pistol below has been de-activated. This involves cutting slots in the barrell and welding in a solid rod. The firing pin will be cut and welded, the extractor ground off and the receiver ground out. What tails could this fine old weapon tell probably been through two world wars. THE INHUMANITY OF IT ALL. Makes me ashamed to be British.
With old spec. deactivation certificate dated 1996.
Very early model, serial no. 8418 made in November 1912.
Also with very rare intact locking lugs on barrel and inside slide, and original grip panels.
Its condition is excellent considering it is 98 years old. Fully field strips and dry fires. Complete with Colt lanyard magazine.
When you can find one, they always have their locking lugs removed and they usually sell for over £1300.
This is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine icon for less.
£925 post paid to any UK mainland address.
Cheques take a minimum of 7 working days to clear.

Can a weapon be "re-activated" by replacing components?

Yes they can especially old spec ones. However new spec has most of the components welded so is cost prohibative. This would be strictly illegal in UK

Sorry also illegal to ship to USA I think. There are thousands of such weapons in UK its a shame that military weapons cannot be shipped to America. I am sure however that antique weapons can be.

Hi Angry
Here is a link to the selling site. I have done some research and it may be possible to export de-activated weapons. Check out the old spec 1928 tommy guns they go for buttons.

I don't know if you ever saw any of the American commercials with the old Native American guy dripping tears at the sight of some trash-filled nature areas, probably not, but i just made the same face as the dude on that commercial. sad loss

It's just a plain shame to do that to such a weapon.
