The 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month
Please take a moment today to remember the men and women that went before you.
For some of our younger members, the above time and date was set as the end of WW 1, and became Armistice Day- later Veteran's Day or Remembrance day. The orange and red paper flowers you will see worn in a buttonhole today represents the poppies that grow on the graves of the soldiers- they have become a symbol of those soldiers. |

well said C3. we need to remember those who gave all in sacrifice of our country so that we have the opportunity to live the lives we do.
to all those who have fallen in service of our great nation, we salute and honor your memory. you are not forgotten. |
You know it's been a long time since I have seen a member of the VFW selling poppies. Since I was a kid my mom&dad would always bye from the men that stood out side the PX.

Lest we forget.
Please remember all of those who have served before and those who are serving now. They have given themselves to honor you, your country, and your freedom. |
Thank you, to all the brave men/hero's that gave their lives for our freedom.

Did you know this is the first Veteran's Day without a living survivor from WWI?
|
We are rapidly losing the survivors of WW II.
|
Time marches on, as do our military men and women.
I appreciate and respect each and every one of them for the job they have done or are doing. |
