FORMER resident of Douglas County here. You need to hunt up the Ben Lomond Gun Club. HQs there in the Springs. 500 acre range out beyond Kiowa. Dues were reasonable, you DO need to be NRA member.

I'm a member of Frontier Sportsman's Club, an outdoor range. Whispering Pines Club is an indoor range that costs quite a bit more. Dragon Man has an outdoor range that is open to the public

I have a 100 yd range in the back pasture. Out east.
I don't do too much shooting anywhere else =)

Rumor has it that ft carson is building a range that will be open to the public. I heard it was approved, but haven't looked in to it.

Yep, they are breaking ground soon I believe, don't know of completion date. Supposed to be 6 ranges open to the public 7 days a week.

Just found this. I swear an article I read this winter said they would break ground in April, guess they are behind schedule. Here is an update, looks like they plan to be completed late summer '12.

Supposedly the range at Carson is open. I haven't been there yet but heard from two others that it was open. Exit 132 off I-25 west about 200 yards.
Trying to find a way to get there. LOL
