Earth quake!?!?!?!?
So who felt it this morning?
I got home earlier and my wife told me that there was a quake. We live in Jonesboro. |
I've heard rumblings all day, Ohio. Sounds like a far off helicopter that lasts a few seconds, but there is no helicopter. I wonder if it is related?
|
Where exactly? Jonesboro Tennessee?
There was a 3.9 about 40 miles north of Memphis this morning. Most people don't notice a quake of less than 3 on the richter. |
Jonesboro Arkansas (Arkansas subforum) may have been the same quake, we arnt that far from Memphis.

On another note, y'all have been having quite a few quakes. Haven't you heard? I'll see if I can find some news links. That's actually how I found out most people don't notice a quake that measures less than 3 on the Richter. |

I understand about the phone....all too well I understand lol |
Phone-wise, there are a couple of good apps for the iphone that list earthquakes by area. I use ifeltthat app to see what's shakin with my nephew in AR.
There have been almost a half dozen little quakes in the 2-2.5 range in Higden, AR in the last week or so. |
I'm just another couple hundred miles north of there myself. Didn't feel this one. The bad part is the ever increasing frequency of these little shakers right along the fault line. Seems to me it's finally building up for the big one. Would not surprise me if it comes in the next couple of years. I just hope we have enough time left to prepare. Still have not figured out where we are bugging out to toward the west.
