Default The REAL "iron eagle"

One of the best WW2 history/biography works that I've read in many years.

Iron Eagle: The turbulent life of General Curtis E. LeMay

By Thomas Coffey

Barnes and Noble

A very good read.

No matter how much you know about the air war in both the European and Pacific theaters, you'll learn a lot more.

I will give that one a try. Thanks for the heads-up.

If you haven't read it yet, pick up Atkinson's final volume of his WWII trilogy, The Guns at Last Light It is an outstanding history and a fun read. It sheds some new light on some of our WWII heroes and villains.

Atkinson ? I dunno... I read one of his books once and once was enough . The man cannot write, which is understandable when you consider he was a senior editor for The Washington Post ( "Washington Daily Worker" ) . Editor Ben Bradlee couldn't write either, as evidenced by his atrocious book on JFK .
They say history is written by the victors but in the Atkinson case, it is written by illiterate leftists .
