Not a movie, but the book I am reading just had a scene where the protagonist just pulled his 'ultra slim' Glock, and released the safety. Like the book, but some of the author's lack of research has me miffed, even for a novel.

Does it take place in the future? Which book?

Yes, it's a Sci Fi book called Limit. I think the scene takes place in 2025. So I guess that means Glock fans will have to find a new brand in about 10 years or so. Glocks will be thin and have a manual safety!!! Oh the horror.

There are a couple of revolvers that can be silenced. One is the Nagant. The cylinder moves forward and seals against the barrel.
In most cases it is a S&W or Colt revolver and it is ridiculous.

I seem to remember a couple of really crappy Saturday Night specials that were made in Germany. I think one was Rohn.

The head badguy used a hk p7 which is prolly one of the finest 9mm ever made. An elegent weapon for a classier time.

in army of darkness, Bruce Campbell fires a lever action rifle like 20 times without reloading

I can't count how many movies I've seen where someone shoots the windshield of a car & miraculously the driver isn't hit. it seems to happen a couple different times in "Bullitt" that I remember
Windshields often deflect bullets up in rl so what looks like a driver should be hit the bullet almost always hits the roof.

No not really a foul up but lack of research the news media at the time was rife with scare stories of plastic ceramic glock 7 handguns using cop Killer armor piercing anti tank rounds being used to blowup 747 in flight...

This really wasn't a movie maker error but the lack of 1903a4 snipers available they actually asked museums and collectors but all refused. With time running short they used a pu sniper instead.

In the recent riddick movie one of the mercs hunting riddick goes the whole movie with his eotech on backwards. Really fun movie despite that

I know the background story, but what's on the film stands, and is

an obvious inaccuracy.

you often see in movies & tv shows someone shot in the head inside a car. the nearby window always gets splattered with blood, presumably from an exit wound, but there is never a bullet hole in the window.

I always chuckle when I see someone in a tv show or movie shooting something like a 500 S&W one handed & the gun not even flinching. I suppose it's not as dramatic to show the gun fly out of their hand, or come back & hit them in the nose.

I find it odd that in movies or tv shows, if the criminal used a 38, it's a snub nose Smith & Wesson, if they used a 9mm, it's either a glock 17 or beretta 92, 45? it's a 1911. cuz you know, no one in the world has a different gun in one of those calibers
