Mods if this is not in the right place please correct me.

When you go to a gun show, firearm store, or even most pawn shops you see signs saying "buying guns!" but people do not come in droves like they do for government ran "buy back" campaigns paying pennies on the dollar. I want to know is if anyone has seen or heard of a private individual or firearms store having a massive buying campaign like a "buy back" to make money / find rare guns.

I've not heard of one, but that leaves a lot of liability on the person buying them if they did. Stolen property is still stolen if in your possession. It would be neat to see though if someone did fund one.

most of the ones i have seen that do this are usually looking for a particular type of firearm or certain brands. and not usually interested in buying something they don't want.
