Default Illinois gun show question.

If you purchase a firearm at a gun show in illinois, Do you still need to go through the waiting period? Or can you bring it home same day?

Waiting period is in effect. Makes it hard to buy a pistol unless the dealer is nearby for pickup. Most of the time a dealer from out of the area will have an agreement with a dealer in the area to transfer the gun through them. Sometimes this is for a fee and other times it is a courtesy at no cost.

There are no 'loopholes' at a gun show!!!

Is illinois the only state with this ridiculous law? Im curious because if I buy a gun im gonna want to shoot it the same day! Do you still have to wait if you go to a gun show in Indiana? I know some may think oh thats no big deal but im kinda impatient.

If you are an Illinois resident, you're stuck. If you purchased in Indiana, they would have to transfer it to an Illinois FFL... right back under the waiting period.

You have two remedies:

Get a few million people together and march on Springfield to change the law. (a longshot)

Or move.
