10,000 Attend San Francisco Gun Show Today
Showed up at the SF gun show today at the Cow Palace, went through the door at 9:15 (opened at 9:00) and they had counted 4,500 people through so far. 5.56 ammo had already sold out by the time we got in and the rest was going fast. I stood in line for some powder- all of the H335 was gone (one of the ones I wanted) and they only had 3 of the 5 pound Leverevolution and a dozen 1 lbs. left. Most of the bullets were gone from that vendor and the guy said that more than 75% of the ammo and 80% of the powder they had on hand was gone already, and this was at 11:00 (that's how long it took to get to the counter).
Most of the 8 lb powder jugs were going for $170 and the 1 lb was going for $30. That is pretty much all I bought was powder.
Oh wait, no. I got 500 rounds of new Winchester 30/06 brass for $150. That was all they had. Right now at Powdervalleyinc.com it is $23.40 for 50 rounds, so I think I did OK there!
Here is a local news clip (not a mag! ) http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/video?id=8951853&pid=8951843

Sounds like a huge show. Gun people are out in force and voting with their wallets.
Thanks for throwing prices out there. Especially on the reloading stuff. I'm still trying to figure out prices and what others consider to be good deals.

I am watching the video and see a cart roll out at the 1:29, lucky buy! This was Saturday, like to see how Sunday goes when more people are freed up.

I am going back up tomorrow to sell some of my surplus ammo. I sold a bunch of 12 gauge 00 buckshot and slugs for $4 a box (of 5 rounds). I didn't even have a sign or anything and sold 80 boxes of that stuff without even trying. I have a bunch more of it that will be $5 a box tomorrow. Also have some .40 S&W that I priced out tonight- its going for .40-.75 a round. That's what I'll sell it for- or maybe a bit more. I also have a bunch of .300 Win Mag Gold Match Federal that is going for $50 for a box of 20 rounds.
I am making some signs tonight for tomorrow. Should do better that way!

When the regular stuff runs out, the folks will turn to shotgun ammo. I think I might need to pick a case or 2 in the coming days, either steel shot or buckshot 00 (2 3/4, not 3"), shoulder is already screwed up.
Forgot to say, Good Luck at selling at the show!

That is some thing. I would think from all the reports there would never be a gun show in Frisco. Did they have Antigun protest at the show?

I have been to several shows at the Cow Palace. It isn't actually in SF, but south of there in Daly City not too far from Candlestick Park where the 49'rs played the Packers tonight. But is is close enough that most people think its in SF.
No protesters that I saw. Well, aside from the media that is .
