The Double Barrel 45 DOES Exist and IS Now Shipping

Two years ago, we brought you the story of an obscure Italian firm who had created a double-barreled 1911 style pistol that fired both sides at once with each pull of the trigger. This gun, the AF2011A1, is now a reality. Further, it is being imported as we speak.

Italian Fantasy Factory

According to their press release, "Arsenal Firearms is proud to announce the global deliveries of all its product lines, effective November the 1st, 2013. Products such as the AF2011-A1 Second Century double barrel pistol, the Strike One and the Legend bolt-action rifles started rolling out the Italian manufacturing facility located in Gardone Val Trompia (BS) during the first week of November this year. {Note from Firearms Talk: This is the same town that Beretta has their famous factory in. Coincidence? Surely its a good place to hire trained gun-makers looking for work}

Following a troubled European Union legislative change effective in late July and the deriving blockade of gun exports outside the EC, finally the Italian Government has provided a reasonable solution, allowing all Italian gun companies to resume exports outside the European Community by the end of November. Arsenal Firearms is also pleased to announce that the Strike One was on delivery since early November to some selected European Union Importers and Dealers, while the gun has obtained Conditional Import status to the US BATFE for the import clearing.

Arsenal Firearms is therefore glad to announce shipments of the AF2011-A1 Second Century double barrel pistol also towards the United States of America, starting early December. The guns will be imported through the US Importer EAA Corporation, Cocoa, Florida."

Coming to America

It should be noted that EAA is the corporation that has imported the Tanfoglio series of CZ pistols under the "Witness" name for the past twenty years. These guns, like those of Arsenal, likewise come from Italy.

Besides the already famous double-barreled .45, they have some more interesting offerings that are headed to the States.

The company is currently shipping their Legend-series bolt-action rifle (in 30 calibers!), and...

their Strike One pistol that has a definite Glock-S&W M&P/XD feel to it.

Looks like there is a new kid on the block.

wouldnt that be classified by the nanny staters as a full auto as in firing more than one shot with a single trigger pull??

Because it has two hammers, two triggers, two barrels, so in effect, it is two yet with a single receiver.
